Business Safety Strategy

GBA works closely with business owners to guide our public safety strategy. GBA’s Neighborhood Safety Manager works with Baltimore Police Department and local business owners on our Good Neighbor Agreement (GNA), a shared commitment to safer commercial corridors.

BPD has incorporated our GNA into their Community Policing in-service training.

Youth Violence Prevention Programming

GBA is partnering with neighborhood-based service providers to provide in-school programming to over 60 at-risk elementary and middle schoolers. The students develop their socio-emotional wellness and positive relationships with other students in their cohort, resulting in positive effects on health and wellbeing.

GBA received a National Endowment for the Arts Grant for Art Projects award to host a design competition called “Gateways to Change” to visually connect multiple sites in Baybrook. Using a combination of in-person and online surveys, GBA collected 232 responses from the community. In 2025, GBA will work with the winning designer, EnviroCollab, and NDC to finalize the winning design for implementation.

Decorative Board-Ups

GBA is collaborating with Grow Home to support The Neighborhood Foundation in implementing decorative board-ups at violence-facilitating properties.

Decorative board-ups help attract new residents and businesses to our community to invest and renovate vacant properties. Grow Home is utilizing its workforce development team to complete the installs!
