Completed Projects

Check out some of the projects we've recently completed in Baybrook!

Garrett Park Interwoven (2).png

Garrett Park Sculptures

GBA worked with Urban Conga to install Interwoven, a place for community members to engage and play in Garrett Park.

GBA also worked with Tim Scofield to install an entrance sculpture, welcoming residents to the park.

02

Collective Efficacy Surveying

In 2024, GBA conducted a follow-up survey to measure the impact of the Baybrook Violence Reduction Plan on collective efficacy in the area compared to the baseline data from 2021. With the support of resident volunteers, GBA collected +230 surveys focused on perceptions of the neighborhood and perceptions of police.

The Maryland Crime Research and Innovation Center analysis revealed “statistically significant improvements in 8 out of 9 questions relating to people's perceptions of police, as well as statistically significant improvements in 4 out of 10 questions relating to social cohesion in the neighborhood”.

Alley Gating

GBA has installed alley gates at Cambria/4th St. and 5th Street between Cambria and Pontiac.

Alley gating reduces dumping, allows residents to secure the back entrances to their homes and potentially beautify and transform the alley into a usable community space.

04

Home Buyer Assistance

GBA distributed $80,000 in homebuyer assistance to new Baybrook homeowners! Four of these properties qualified for the additional $5,000 Live Near Your Park Incentive.

Homeownership incentives are a proven tool for both stimulating market investment in historically disinvested neighborhoods and making the dream of homeownership more attainable to working families.
